Wonderland Maps

 

The Queen of Hearts, vile serpent, worker of iniquity, hellhag of bedlam, her hideous evil has blighted Wonderland to its heart. Follow in the steps of the Cheshire Cat as he leads you through the horrors the Queen has wrought. 

 

Vale of Tears

Of the miraculous place of Alice's youth, the merest vestige survives. The once lush land is sick to death. No longer do its wondrous effects delight the ear or eye. Its beguiling fragrance now distinctly suggests a decaying corpse. If Alice can escape from here, she must travel through the unsavory city of Pandemonium and the Fortress of Doors, and make her way to the Pool of Tears. Those of us who have eluded the Red Queen's pestilence will serve as her guides. But only Alice can truly cure the evil.

 

Pool of Tears

Nestled in a strangely luscious forest, the Pool of Tears might seem an idyllic oasis for a spot of tea, a respite from this postlapsarian Wonderland's fetid squalor. Wouldn't it be luxurious to unlace the boots and linger for a spell on the bog? Vanquish such idleheaded cogitation immediately if you expect to survive your shrunken condition. Now flea-sized and dwarfed by all, you'll look an appetizing scrap for any insect that skitters your way. 

 

Fortress of Doors

Sinister and gut-wrenching confusion reigns supreme in the Fortress of Doors. Some portals are false; some open on to a bottomless abyss; and still others lead to labyrinthine mazes and lethal traps. Nice choices, no? But, if you can make it through, this academy of horrors teaches how to survive in the Queen of Heart’s wasted Wonderland. It’s basic training reduced to its simplest terms: learn its lessons or perish. Let the White Rabbit be your guide. He thinks he knows the way. Which is good, because there are some very odd things going on here, and your attention will be occupied elsewhere. It turns out the flying books you evaded in Library were just a small taste of trouble the Fortress has to offer. A full meal will include generous servings of Insane Children, Red Devils, Torch Gnomes and Fire Imps - and each of these abominations is committed to your failure. You’ll need to penetrate some deep mysteries and solve more than a few knotty puzzles to move on to the next region.

 

Pandemonium

A menacing darkness voraciously consumes the shafts of light that penetrate the cavern. The dust-choked illumination exposes terrified inhabitants huddled in twisted passages and skulking among the inhospitable rocks. Wild children, dreadful demons, and ferocious fire imps dominate the savage landscape and foreshadow the challenge that Alice will face on her arduous journey. 

 

 

Mushroom Forest

Muck oozes underfoot, and the air is sporogonically alive within the Mushroom Forest. With each agitated step, you squish, brush up against, or breathe in the fungal slime and sinewy strands of mushroom life. Alice’s quest to resuscitate Wonderland depends now on how she fares in the Forest of Shrooms, untangles the mystery of the Catapillar Garden, and battles for the magic mushroom in the Centipede Lair.

 

Forest of Shrooms

A reeking distillation of fungal mold, the Forest of Shrooms seems insanely alive to all senses. Sporous droppings overswarm the forest, and a canopy of gargantuan caps chokes light from the fungal landscape. Still-small Alice needs to locate the right mushroom to grow to normal size -- how many mushrooms will she try before she finds the right one, and what deformities will the wrong ones, when sampled, bring? 

 

Caterpillar Garden

A volatile mix of rotten leaves and putrefied fruit burbles in the caterpillar’s hookah. It bleeds a truly mephitic aroma. But even this rank stench is lost in the intense and pervasive fungal stink of the Mushroom Forest. The Catapillar Garden is a noxious place. Nevertheless, closely attend the worm's erudite curriculum, for it may also be a place of discovery.

 

 

Madhatter's Area

The distinctive whiff of putrefaction taints the musty air. It’s as if a huge woolen shroud had been snatched from the crumbling confinement of a not-quite moldy grave and languidly shaken. With the fungal realm confined to memory, Alice must now face a new chemistry of chaos in this fetid milieu. While plotting her next move in the Chess Village, tripping through the Psychedelic Funhouse, or attending an eccentric, disorienting, and potentially lethal tea party at the Madhatter’s Castle, Alice will need to be transcendently clever to survive the macabre mischief that is the hallmark of the Hatter’s domain.

 

Madhatter's Castle

A sanguinolent feast awaits you at the Hatter’s abattoir. If your appetite runs toward raw, lethiferous terror, you are sure to be sated here. A diabolical chef, your host delights in preparing the bloodiest cuisine. Fortunately for him the table guests prefer to gorge on their meat raw, particularly when it’s yours.

 

Psychedelic Funhouse

This carnival of craziness exudes a special brand of dread. Demented laughter resonates throughout and nearly conceals a chilling range of piteous screams. When a mirror cracks, instantaneously unleashing its promise of monstrously bad luck, “fun” becomes a terribly relative term. No augury of ill fortune could foretell such frenzy. And it’s even more exquisite when the doppelgangers drop by!

 

Chess Village

Though mired in chaos and conflict, the Chess Village is a respite of sorts. The stakes here are still ultimate for Alice, and failure is fatal; but there’s a tad less carnage than from whence she came, or compared to where she’s headed. Importuned by unctuous pawns and other obligated pieces, she seeks a royal audience to learn more about her quest. Rarely has internecine conflict appeared so black and white -- and red all over. With which King will she side?

 

 

Land of Fire and Brimstone

A sulphureous stench scorches the skin and sears the lungs. Alice's reward for surviving the Hatter's carnage is a trip to the land of overwhelming oppression. Though her skills have grown enormously since her return to Wonderland, she'll need all her battle-tested toughness to survive this inferno. Enemies abound and, from the Volcano Incline Village to the Citadel of Fire, raging molten rivers carve deep into the savage land. The lethal Lair of the Jabberwocky is Alice's portal into the Queen's malefic nest.

 

Citadel of Fire 

The odor of grilled flesh wafts in the blistering air. Slightly singed from her travails at the Volcano Incline Village, Alice now faces a more blazing brand of warfare in the Citadel of Fire. Seeking to roast Alice on the spit of their white-hot mayhem, black-browed Fire Imps and assorted Stygian menaces offer her a uniquely warm reception.

 

Volcano Incline Village

The Volcano Incline Village is animated by flame. The jarring dissonance of flowing lava and sizzling embers engulfs Alice. Jabberspawn, Boojum, and other infernal fiends infest this labyrinth of burning bridges and scalding stairways. All cinder-carved paths penetrate deep into the crusted bowels of the volcano and onward toward a battle of unmitigated fury with the Jabberwocky, lord of this furnace.

 

Lair of the Jabberywocky

In the charred core of the cauldron lies the Lair of the Jabberwocky. An inflamed sea of lava seethes and ebbs, alive to the malevolent whims of the monstrous apparition. When this powerful demon espies Alice, she'll come to know the full force of Wonderland's malice.

 

 

Queen's Domain

After such an arduous journey, it will come as no surprise that the final domain is the most wicked by far. All that came before was a tortuous, teasing preamble to the vile fiend whose very breath reeks of corruption. From the Garden to the Grounds to the Keep, the Queen's domain will test Alice like no other. What new carnage will precede Wonderland's restoration to its bygone quiescence?

 

Queen's Grounds

The stench of death smolders in the soulless air. Burning piles of anonymous corpses litter the battlefield, the killing-ground for factions opposed to the Queen's vile diplomacy. Will Alice, after traveling so far, become more carbonaceous tinder for this vile funeral pyre?

 

Queen's Gardens

Finding your way through this Gordian maze is the smallest part of your problem. You've shown remarkable aptitude for solving convoluted puzzles. But now you're in the very heart of the Queen's lethal realm. As you navigate the labyrinth, peculiar landmarks may guide you. Let the carcasses strewn in your vengeful wake track your progress.

 

Queen's Keep

Her kingdom oozes pestilence, her court is contemptible, and all her craven subjects are abominably bent on Alice's torture-wracked demise. When face to face with Evil Incarnate's dominatrix, will Alice rise to the challenge? And does she have the heart to cauterize the ulcerated land?
